Customer

Customer is the Belgian company specializing in the development and distribution of adhesives. Recently the company has acquired Italian producer and became one of the largest in Europe. As the result the client covers most of European market and employs more than 10 000 employees.

Challenge

After the acquisition the client had to integrate administrative structures of both companies and optimize their internal processes without major impact on business activities. Furthermore the customer planned to introduce this organizational restructuring as transparently as possible for their employees. At the same time the management of the consolidated company aspired to centralize and integrate company operations of the wholesale business within one system.

Solution

The decision has been made to use Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) as a platform for integration of business activities within a single enterprise portal. OnCleverSoft was commissioned to carry out all the development for this project.

The client already used Ektron CMS for web content management and OnCleverSoft has designed new MOSS portal to resemble Ektron environment, so that employees adapt to the new system quicker and easier.

After close communication and coordination with the customer there were defined the procedures for setting the templates and workflows. Such solution provides integration and management of all the project activities at a custom workplace and unification of the process, assignments, and roles for company projects. This common approach allows company employees to be easily assigned to projects or teams. The solution integrates the processes of both companies and makes collaboration between them transparent.

Results

OnCleverSoft has successfully delivered the system, that has been further deployed and used in both locations.

Customer received enterprise solution that combines and integrates company processes of the company. The solution consolidated both factories and increased cohesion between their teams. Furthermore company management got possibility to make more informed and quicker decisions.
